Smiths, The – Meat Is Murder LP

Second studio album by the English rock band. "Meat Is Murder" was edgier and more political than its predecessor 'The Smiths' (1984), including the vegetarian-friendly title track (Morrissey forbade the rest of the group from being photographed eating meat) and the anti-corporal punishment track 'The Headmaster Ritual'. Musically, the band had become more adventurous, with Marr and Rourke incorporating rockabilly and funk influences into 'Rusholme Ruffians' and 'Barbarism Begins at Home' respectively. The album contains the singles "Barbarism Begins at Home" and "That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore".
