"Under the Big Black Sun" is the third studio album by the American rock band X and was released in 1982. It is undoubtedly their best album. All 11 songs are exceptional, both in terms of performance and composition. Before recording the album, singer Exene Cervenka’s sister was killed by a drunk driver, and the band decided to channel their grief into their music, which ultimately led to two of the album’s best tracks: the melodic “Riding With Mary” and the vintage ’50s sound of “Come Back to Me.”
