DEATH BY STEREO's sixth studio album, “Black Sheep Of The American Dream,” will be released as a reissue version on Concrete Jungle Records. Remastered by Paul Miner and featuring completely new artwork by Rob Wallace! This album took the guys from Los Angeles back to their hardcore punk roots—intertwined with devastating metal breakdowns and the hellish solos of party shredder Dan Palmer.

With “Black Sheep Of The American Dream,” DEATH BY STEREO also brought original bassist and founding member Paul Miner back on board. In addition to his invaluable skills on bass, he also co-produced, co-composed, mixed, and mastered the album, steering it in a direction somewhere between “If Looks Could Kill, I'd Watch You Die” and “Into the Valley of Death.” And the result was no less impressive, considering the bands Paul Miner has produced in recent years: TERROR, H2O, THRICE, ATREYU, ...

And it wasn't just the sound that was reminiscent of the days of “If Looks Could Kill, I'd Watch You Die.” DEATH BY STEREO had also refocused their lyrics on social criticism. “With this album, we're calling on the world to stand up and fight,” says Efrem Schulz, singer of DEATH BY STEREO. The opener “WTF Is Going On Around Here?” is a clear statement against right-wing, conservative ideologies and calls on all people, regardless of nationality or skin color, to fight against oppressive systems. But stories from their surroundings and their own lives were also incorporated. The song “The 5th Of July” is about a brutal murder in their neighborhood, in which Kelly Thomas, a homeless man with a mild mental disability, was beaten to death by several police officers. "The song takes issue with police brutality and the way the American justice system is designed for us to fail and for the powers that be to take control. No matter what it costs, even human life," says Schulz.

There are certainly few bands that can balance chaos and conscientiousness as well as DEATH BY STEREO. And somehow they usually manage to do it all under the influence of far too much Jägermeister. Because even with all the serious topics, DEATH BY STERO have never lost their joy of life and music. Death For Life!
