What the artist says: “Elektro Strothmann, the laptop punk machine from Steckenpferd City, is releasing his new album “Teile” (Parts). Over ten creaky beats, Elektro describes the world in his head. Here, the sidewalks are so full of chewing gum that you can hardly move. In the self-service bakery, the coffee tastes like crocodile tears, and everyone tells the same jokes. Overall impression: strange. The music consists of remnants of punk and soul, snippets of Dylan, and whatever else is played at local festivals. Cobbled together on a laptop, the lyrics are mumbled or growled to match. The common thread is the mixture of humor and intense emotions. No one else does it like this.
