Garage rock, sixties punk, freakbeat and revival rock all collide in the fuzz-drenched world of THE LAUNDERETTES. The Oslo-based five-piece has spent a quarter-century proving that the primitive swing of the Sixties still throws the best parties. More than 300 shows across the USA, Europe and Japan underline their high-voltage live reputation. Previous releases on Steven Van Zandt's Wicked Cool Records put the band on bills from Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park to South by Southwest in Austin, and even into global campaigns for Nike and T-Mobile. Now the rockets resurface with 'Back From the Sea', their fourth studio album and first for Germany's revered Soundflat Records. The songs were cut at Oslo's Subsonic Society Studios with producer Anders Mller (Euroboys, Gluecifer). Expect Farfisa swells, surf-tinged guitar hooks and harmonies sharp enough to shave vinyl. 'Back From the Sea' joins a catalogue that already includes Getaway (2013), Every Heart Is a Time Bomb (2005) and Shaken and Disturbed (2002), plus the best-of set Fluff 'N' Fold (2007) and the Take Me to the Race EP (2003).
