The LP “Rip It!” by Powersolo is released on Danish label Crunchy Frog and pushes the band further along their raw retro rock, mixing elements of garage, punk, surf, and psychobilly. The record relies on lean arrangements, driving drum rhythms, and prominent baritone guitars which, together with spare riffs and rough-edged vocals, create a distinctive, slightly noisy sonic space.

Powersolo, who sometimes describe themselves as purveyors of so‑called “donkey punk,” connect traditional rock roots with more exotic influences; on earlier releases they already showcased flashes of Latin, hints of country, and a pronounced fondness for analog lo‑fi recording techniques. On “Rip It!” tight song formats and an immediate live aesthetic move to the forefront, so the atmosphere of the stage is clearly translated into the studio production.

The band built around frontman Kim “Kix” Jeppesen stays true to its trio line‑up and brings the characteristic directness of their live shows onto the full‑length record, while Crunchy Frog once again serves as a dependable partner for release and distribution. This LP is aimed at listeners who appreciate no‑frills, retro‑oriented rock with an idiosyncratic, cosmopolitan twist.
